With ideas and a spirit of innovation, Werner Engel founded a company in 1932 to produce confectionery for commercial kitchens. Potato production was added in 1959, and we expanded into foreign markets very early on.
In 2011, we achieved more than 50% of our sales abroad for the first time. Today, around 160 employees work in development and production so that you can concentrate on what matters most – turning your products into bestsellers.

For seniors and children, for competitive athletes and everyday warriors, our protein puree makes you strong. One serving covers 14% of your daily protein requirement: Good for muscles, low in fat, gluten-free and super creamy!
Of course we produce CO² frendly
Today we are shaping the future of our children. This is why CO²-friendly production with a high use of renewable energy is particularly important to us. Becuase of that, we built a biomass power plant together with the city of Goch and the Koehler Group back in 2012.
Result: Our power plant generates electricity for many households in the city of Goch, as well as 100% of the steam required for our process. We can also produce our own gas for drying from the treated process water. This allows us to produce in an environmentally friendly and CO²-neutral manner. Every step counts for the environment.

We live with and through nature, which provides our raw materials. Preserving it for our children is our responsibility, which is why we are committed to our region today. Whether it’s in the form of wildflower strips along potato fields or biotopes on our company grounds: nature is at the heart of everything we do.
We support initiatives such as the Aktionsgemeinschaft von Forstwirtschaft und Waldjugend “pollution police” for the reforestation of the Reichswald forest with 2,200 beech seedlings.
